Athlete of the Month – March 2019 – Fatima Hussain

1. What is your favorite thing to do
(other than workout at CrossFit
Dover)?
I have two young kids, ages 4 and 2.
My fun activities are usually around them. I love taking them to parks and
beaches during summer time. I can watch them play for hours while I enjoy my
coffee. I also love watching TV (usually news, HGTV) after the kids go to
bed.
2. If you are going to treat yourself, what is your favorite “cheat
meal”?
So many to choose from, but one thing I can eat everyday, and totally worth
cheating, is “Five guys double cheese burger”. Fortunately there
isn’t a Five Guys in Dover otherwise someone would be having a heart attack
soon.
3. Where would you go and what would you do on your dream vacation?
I have been
planning to go to Hawaii for the past several years. I specifically want to go
to Maui. Love its black sand beaches, the weather and loads of fresh tropical
fruits. Hopefully my kids will be able to take the 12-hour flight in the near
future and we all can go on our dream vacation.
4. If you could have any career, what would be your ideal job?
Being a physician is one of the best parts of my life. I work several weeks
without taking a break because I love seeing patients and helping people in
their most vulnerable moments of life. It’s challenging to work full time while
having two young kids especially when my husband lives in Miami. I feel blessed
because God has given me the opportunity and ability to help others in their
tough times. There is no better career for me other than being a
physician.
5. What is your favorite CrossFit movement or workout?
Squats, squats, squats (front, back,
all versions of squats).
6. Anything else you’d like to share?
I will be moving to Miami next year and for past few months I have been searching for houses in Miami based on their proximity to CrossFit Boxes. Thanks to Coach Jen for introducing CrossFit to me when I randomly asked her once about CrossFit and she asked me to come workout. Not only do I feel stronger, but I also have so many new friends and acquaintances. I will truly miss CFD when I move to Miami.
