1. What is an interesting/fun fact about yourself? I live in Denton, MD and work in Dover for the DE Division of Parks and Recreation. Prior to that I was the Director of Finance for Wicomico County MD, and before that I served in the U.S. Navy Supply Corps for 27 years retiring in 2003. My favorite duty station was Iceland, I lived there for 6 years. The hiking, camping and 4-wheeling in Iceland is amazing. My most recent trip back to Iceland was in 2012 for 5 days and 40 miles of hiking in the mountains. It was an awesome trip – I’ve lost another 30lbs since the picture taken while hiking the Laugavegur trail.
2. What do you like the most about CrossFit Dover? I really like the feeling of being welcomed, supported and encouraged every time I come into CrossFit Dover. This was a completely new experience for me. Both my children do CrossFit and they encouraged me to start. It is the best investment I have ever made in myself. Thank you to all the coaches and to everyone who has partnered with me and cheered me on when I didn’t think there was another burpee or wall-ball shot left in me.
3. Name one fitness goal you have. I have never been more physically fit than I am today. The 5K in June was the first time I ever entered an organized race. My goals are to continue to improve muscle strength and flexibility while maintaining my current weight level. I’d like to increase my overhead squat weight and improve my core strength. A six-pack at age 65 would be nice but I have trouble staying away from the Guinness.
